"I really think Boise State needs to take a long look at themselves and realize they are just being silly with this blue turf gimmick. It's a whole lot of nonsense," said Mitakihara Magi head football coach Tatsuya Kaname after the visitors ransacked Bronco Stadium in Boise, Ida., making a mockery of the blue turf in the 210-31 rout of the Boise State Broncos. "I mean, where we come from, you don't see us clamoring for a rose-colored turf.

"To be fair, we actually like playing on natural grass. I should correct myself: I don't know what playing surface we play on, but it's not blue. Anyway, I was pleased with the performance, except for one thing. I warned the team earlier today to not underestimate Boise's defense and what do they do? They give up a disgusting boatload of turnovers.

"It pays to listen."

Quarterback Invalid Name passed for 397 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 259 yards and five more scores. Halfback Tyrone Gay ran for 123 yards and two more majors. Wide receiver Kunihiko Yoichi caught four passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns while fellow wideout Chester Patterson led the blockers with 20 pancakes. Middle linebacker DeShawn Thompson had 12 tackles, cornerback Shinosuke Akasaka had five sacks and strong safety Harry Himemiya had four interceptions on defense. Six different players had a defensive touchdown and four players secured a safety.

Madoka improve to 5-0 and will travel to Fort Collins next week to face the Colorado State Rams.
