Gordon, De Jong power Magi to 149-14 win over Canes

Big plays from quarterback Leonard Gordon and halfback Baz De Jong powered Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi to an emphatic 149-14 victory over the Miami Hurricanes at MItakihara Stadium in Mitakihara, British Columbia.
Gordon passed for 440 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for 247 yards and an additional major. De Jong, nicknamed "Bazasaurus Rex" for his fearsome ability to destroy run defenses with his relentless power and perseverance, ran for 197 yards and six touchdowns. Wide receiver Kunihiko Hatanaka caught five passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns while Johnny Rich caught three passes for 74 yards and two more scores.
The Magi Morning Rescue defense forced 17 turnovers and was led by middle linebacker Lemon Eyre and strong safety Kory Stone, who had 13 tackles each.
"Very good performance from our offense and defense and we did well throwing the ball but I was not happy with the sacks we gave up," Kaname said after the match. "We seriously need to address our inability to stop the pass rush at time because our quarterback is getting hammered out there.
"Credit to Miami for putting on a strong performance with the pass rush but we knew that if we overloaded on both sides of the ball, this team can't be stopped."
Madoka improve to 8-0 and continue their home stand next Saturday against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
