Mitakihara Magi head coach Tatsuya Kaname elected to go with his second string against the Eastern Michigan Eagles. The Eagles put up a valiant fight, scoring a boatload of points, but the Magi just had too much in the tank as they steamrolled over the visitors from Ypsilanti, Mich., 185-70 on another rainy day at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara, B.C.

Backup quarterback Sean Oliver passed for 378 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 441 yards and five more scores. Halfback Corey Green ran for 126 yards and three majors, halfback Bryan Flowers ran for 156 yards and three touchdowns and fullback Tim Wilcox ran for 223 yards and three majors.

Wide receiver James McCauley caught seven passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns while fellow wideout Dominique Tyler caught five passes for 70 yards and three scores. Left tackle Jason Harvey led the blockers with 30 pancakes.

Middle linebacker Randy Williams, a converted punter, led the defense with 20 tackles, three sacks and an interception. Cornerback Joe Masey added five picks while strong safety Justin Scott and cornerback Marcus Baker added two more.

Another cornerback, Kevin McDowell, returned a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Madoka improve to 2-0 and host Iowa next week.
