Magi wrap up long road trip with 114-27 win over Texas

Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi chalked up another victory on the road, this time against the Texas Longhorns in Austin, Texas. Quarterback Siri Illuminati passed for 215 yards and a touchdown but really did the damage with his feet, rushing for 452 yards and five majors.
Fullback Doug Anderson, already emerging out of the shadow of Jacques Ladouceur and Remy Vachon, ran for 76 yards and three touchdowns. Tight end Brandon Jackson had three receptions for 89 yards and a score.
Defensively, middle linebacker Leonard "Lemon" Eyre had 26 tackles and two interceptions. Strong safety Kory Stone added 14 tackles. Overall, the Mitakihara defense was relentless, forcing 14 turnovers.
"I think the players have hit midseason form right about now," said Kaname after the match. "We are solid on offense, defense and special teams, and we have the type of depth and stability that will make this team very dangerous as we approach the halfway point of the year.
"We will head into Homecoming Week with an objective to improve on our consistency in making good plays on both sides of the ball while emphasizing accountability and character on and off the field."
Mitakihara improve to 5-0 and wrap up the month of September with Homecoming 2028 against the Air Force Falcons.
