Mitakihara are back in the National Championship Game

It's a broken record nowadays, but Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi are back in the national championship game after waxing the Idaho Vandals 139-52 at Kaname Field at Mitakihara Stadium. A balance of big plays on offense, defense and special teams from the second string powered the Magi to a comfortable victory an a enjoyable month-plus of rest.
"Our boys deserved this great victory, as with all the victories we have won," said Kaname after the game. "We worked so hard to accomplish this far , and I tip my hat to everyone involved. It's been a fantastic year, but our job's not done yet.
"Now we have to go our their and defend our Four Corners, just like we do every year."
Quarterback Brian Brown passed for 179 yards but did most of his damage on the ground, rushing for 363 yards and six touchdowns. Halfback Johnny Sims ran for 282 yards and two majors and fullback Remy Vachon toted the rock for 100 yards and two more scores.
However, the main highlight of the day was special teams.

In addition, cornerback Park Jai-Young, who is the second-string punt and kick returner, returned three kickoffs for 219 yards and two touchdowns.
