Mitakihara defeat Oklahoma 74-41 but Stelar is hurt

Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in a 74-41 shootout in Norman, Oklahoma, but quarterback Parov Stelar II had to leave the game midway through the second quarter due to injury. There is a possibility that Stelar could be lost for a great deal of the season due to this injury. An MRI will be conducted tomorrow.

Still, the Magi were able to use the ground game to their advantage, and backup quarterback Brian Brown ran the offense to near-perfection passing for 282 yards and a score while rushing for 203 more yards and a touchdown.

However, the biggest contributor of the night came from special teams and kicker Florence Southwick, who was 6-for-6 on his field goal attempts, including a 46-yarder, while converting all eight extra point attempts.

Defensively, middle linebacker Roman Kollar made 15 tackles, while defensive lineman Lincoln McCandless made 10 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Left end Wallace Johnson, last year's Lombardi Award winner, made four sacks on the day.

"Our team concludes its road trip unbeaten once again," said Kaname after the game. "Now we head into the home stand ready to defend our turf. And we start the home stand against one of the most consistent football teams out there in North Carolina for Homecoming.

"Our fans expect a strong performance and that is what we'll give them."

Next week, the Magi host North Carolina on Homecoming 2027. Madoka improve to 5-0 on the year.
