Mitakihara Homecoming 2030: Our School Is An Awesome School

Mitakihara Homecoming 2030: Our School Is An Awesome School

September 30, 2030

Weekly Report Posted: December 19, 2012 03:58

The Mitakihara Homecoming Committee released the schedule for Mitakihara Homecoming 2030: Our School Is An Awesome School.

Homecoming committee chair Honoka Okada, the married daughter of Magi football coach Tatsuya Kaname and former Magi football offensive coordinator/current physical education instructor Homura Akemi, was excited at the plans for this year's Homecoming.

"I didn't expect to be chairing this year's homecoming since this is just my first year attending this school," Honoka said. "But I wanted to be active in student life from the start, and I got my chance with planning this event. I have planned events before in high school, so this was no different.
"This year, my school turns 20, and we have accomplished so much in so short a time. We've won national championships in every sport and we have 19 football national championships. We are blessed with 200 Rhodes Scholars and counting, and we are No. 1 in the Academic Ranking of World Universities.

"I feel blessed to be a part of the best university in Canada, and I want to make this Homecoming the best Mitakihara Town has ever seen. This school—our school—is truly an awesome school."
This will be the first Homecoming to feature a theme song, entitled "Awesome School," which is a parody of Rich Mullins's classic hit, "Awesome God." This was writted by Okada, along with her husband, Mori Okada.

"From the North to the South
And from the East on to the West,
We're the pride of Madoka.
We are the brightest and the best.
And no one will stop
The Magi of Mitakihara.
To never stop believing's always been the rule.
Everywhere that we will go, the fans had better best believing
That our school is an awesome school.

Our school is an awesome school.
We are Mitakihara.
Our alma mater, hail!
Our school is an awesome school!

And when the gauntlet was dropped in the heat of the night
(Our school is an awesome school.)
We would paint the town different shades of pink and white.
(Our school is an awesome school.)
Deny the obvious, upholding the mindless,
Run up the score has always been our rule.
The times, they will pass, but no one will have forgotten that
Our school is an awesome school.

Our school is an awesome school.
We are Mitakihara.
The rose and pink and white!
Our school is an awesome school!

Our school is an awesome school.
We are Mitakihara.
Our alma mater, hail!
Our school is an awesome school!"
