Mitakihara storm past Miami 133-24, Siri nonplussed

Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi crushed the Miami Hurricanes, 133-24, on a snowy October day at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara, British Columbia but quarterback Siri Illuminati was clearly unhappy with his performance.
Despite passing for 165 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 221 yards and four more scores, Illuminati threw an interception that was returned by Hurricane cornerback Troy Jansen 57 yards for a major and would not talk to the media following the game, opting to run six laps around the track in his warmup outfit before returning to his dorm room to study.
"Siri is a natural competitor, a proud competitor," said Kaname after the match. "He doesn't like throwing interceptions, and he especially takes offense to throwing interceptions that are returned for touchdowns. So you can understand why he decided not to speak to you guys.
"Our offense is a run-first system, so throwing the ball well is not necessary, but it does add another dimension to the attack. He's only a sophomore and will get over making mistakes like that because he's got a lot of room to grow. We didn't ask him to run laps around the track but he chose to do so and took off once he got showered and had his track suit on.
"He's got that fire in his belly to run our offense and plays right and he doesn't accept preventable mistakes like that. That's what I love to see out of him. He epitomizes the persevering, stubborn, winning spirit of a True Mitakihara Man."
Tailback Baz De Jong earned Player of the Game honors for rushing for 307 yards and four touchdowns. De Jong also caught five passes for 81 yards and a touchdown. Halback Barrett Grant ran for 146 yards and three more scores, while wide receiver Jeremy Bell ran for 198 yards and two majors.
Defensive tackle Zulu Mazurek led a voracious Madoka pass rush with 13 tackles and 6.5 sacks. Free safety J.T. Abrams added two interceptions, while middle linebacker Lemon Eyre led all tacklers with 22 tackles.
The Magi improve to 9-0 and will face the North Carolina Tar Heels next week.
