New album from Marching Ultimates coming out!

The new album from the award-winning Mitakihara University Marching Ultimates was released today, entitled "Bonne Chance!" Director of Bands, Dr. Kyousuke Kamijou, explains the intention behind this album.

"Our band members, who are all either single or LGBT," Dr. Kamijou said, "have a fascination with divorce, breaking up, and heartache, and all the glamour behind such facets of life. Some have never experienced anything like this and are even masochistic enough to want this to happen to them. That is a surprise to me, to be honest with you, but it's their intention, not mine.

"Anyway, this compilation features songs related to heartbreak, heartache, divorce, separation, breaking-up, ex-wives, ex-girlfriends, ex-husbands, ex-boyfriends, ex-everything...this band has a disturbing fetish for these things, and I have to wonder if they are hiding tabloid paper underneath their beds in the dorm rooms. It's a scary thought.

"I originally wanted to call this album 'Separate But Equal' or 'Separated But Equal' because 'Bonne Chance' is too Quebec-ish for my liking. We're not from La Belle Province; rather, we hail from a province that is, quite frankly, more awesome than La Belle Province. However, we have a strong Afro-Canadian community and a stronger African-American community here at the Madokampus, and they were against my idea because it evokes images of apartheid, racism, the civil rights movement, segregation, the epic year of 1968...

"I thought they were just fartsniffers looking to pull the race card out of their asses, but Dr. Maru told me to give in to the wishes of the students or risk losing my job. So, it is named 'Bonne Chance', which means 'Good Luck' in French.

"And I suppose it is symbolic of our hopes that those who are going through the life crises we are exploring in this album take a listen to this and feel better. Feeling better helps you move on faster, and that is what this album aims to do.

"Our favorite number in this is Greg Kihn's Breakup Song, because it's easy for us to play and it has that drive-it beat that our band is famous for."

"Bonne Chance!" is available from iTunes for $19.99 CAN. All proceeds will go to the Mitakihara University Music Department.
