Right guard Scott White has elected to transfer to Central Michigan after citing a case of homesickness. "Transferring is my best option if I want to see significant playing time," White said in a one-on-one interview with Coach Tatsuya Kaname and the new offensive line coach, Darrell Ishida.

"We are very disappointed by Scott's decision to leave for Central Michigan because we do not see the Chippewas as a legit contender for any major hardware," said Coach Kaname at a press conference at Hakurei Centre. "Our players need to be committed to playing for the Magi and cannot 'come home to Mama' as we call it here in M-Town.

"We will have to schedule Central Michigan this season and we expect it to be a complete walkover. We have addressed the need for loyalty and will integrate our new recruits into the lineup this season."

On the flip side, Coach Kaname was able to persuade strong safety Jerome Rose, fullback Ibn Battuta and left end Buntarou Okabe into staying for their senior season. The Mitakihara Magi have 29 national titles, more than any other team in college football.
