Solid start to season as Mitakihara skin Auburn 114-55

It was a comprehensive performance for Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi in Sakura Bowl VI, as a balanced attack of the run and pass propelled Canada's Team to a 114-55 victory over the Auburn Tigers at Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium in Tokyo, Japan.
At the center of the offense was tailback Andy Fields, who ran for 146 yards and four touchdowns. Fellow halfbacks Taylor Bullock and Baz De Jong added a couple more majors each. Fields also led the receivers with five catches for 89 yards.
However, it was the defense that made a statement. forcing six turnovers in a pouring typhoon that nearly cancelled the contest. Middle linebacker Leonard "Lemon" Eyre led Madoka's Morning Rescue D with 28 tackles, two sacks and a pick.
"Great start to the season, but I want to see a more compelling display from our defense because six turnovers is just average," Kaname said after the contest. "Our players love to play in these conditions. I hope we get a few more rainstorms under our belt this year because the kids love it."
M-Town improves to 1-0 and continue their season next week against the Air Force Falcons in Colorado Springs, Colo.
