After 102 laps of hell, Madoka clean up their act

Last week, Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi were forced to run 102 laps on the Mitakihara Stadium track after conceding a safety against the Florida Gators. This week, in the pouring rain against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders, Madoka were determined to not reprise the fiasco again. 

Quarterback Invalid Name passed for 143 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 271 yards and four more scores as the Magi routed the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders, 153-24, at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara, B.C. 

Backup quarterback Jeff Gross ran for 247 yards and four touchdowns, halfback George Jackson ran for 238 yards and four more score, halfback Kohei Miyahara rushed for 212 yards and a major, fullback Allen Heinz ran for 123 yards and a touchdown and wide receiver Karuta Kanda ran for 70 yards and a score. Also with a touchdown on the ground was wideout Terrance Andrews.

MIyahara caught five passes for 117 yards and a touchdown to lead the receivers while wide receiver Charles Roland caught five passes for 89 yards and a score. Right tackle Bob Sternberg and left guard Mark Barnes led the blockers with 27 pancakes each while allowing just one sack each.

Middle linebacker Jackie Bezzina led the defense with 26 tackles. Cornerback Shinosuke Akasaka had 11 tackles and three interceptions while cornerback Lee Matthews added a couple of picks. Right outside linebacker Kit McGlynn and defensive tackle Steele Ainsworth led a quiet pass rush with two sacks each.

Madoka improve to 3-0 and return to action next week against the New Mexico Lobos.
