Mitakihara University, after 34 seasons of football, received their first-ever transfer student. Freshman cornerback Frank Barnes has transferred from the Warhawks of Louisiana-Monroe to join the Magi. The news came as a surprise to head coach Tatsuya Kaname.

"This is the first-time we've ever had a transfer student," said Coach Kaname at a press conference at Hakurei Centre. "Quite frankly, we didn't expect someone to be so dissatisfied with their school that they decided to play for us. We welcome Frank to the Mitakihara Family, and we look forward to watching him compete for playing time."

Barnes is a 5'10", 173-lb freshman from College Station, TX. He is expected to challenge for one of the backup slots at corner. When asked of his newfound opportunity, he smiled.

"Mitakihara's a great school and I want to try something different," Barnes said before he left UL Monroe. "They've won so many titles and have a rich tradition. I can't be part of a winner out here, so I need to take off for Canada.

"I hope everyone in College Station wishes me luck, because I have no intentions of letting my folks down. Magi 4 Lyfe!"
