The head coaching contract of Mitakihara Magi football head coach Tatsuya Kaname has been extended by four years, according to reports from the Daily Magi. Kaname is the school's winningest head coach and one of the winningest in college football.

The goals listed in the contract include winning a conference championship, winning 10 and 12 games in a season, winning 50 percent of games against Top 25 in a season and finishing a season ranked in the BCS Top 15.

"We are excited to have Tatsuya back as our head coach," said athletic director Mami Tomoe. "He is the rock of this football program, and we are confident that big things are on the way for this team, as always."

"Already the plans are being laid out for next season," Kaname said at the press conference at Hakurei Centre. "Our staff is preparing the schedule and our players that are returning are conditioning themselves for the work that lies ahead this spring and summer.

"We are confident that we will have a successful defense of our hardware but we have to keep our feet on the ground as we go through this process. Nothing is to be left to chance. We have great momentum and we plan to build on it this year."
