Mitakihara Magi quarterback Invalid Name passed for 1,071 yards and 15 touchdowns but also threw 13 interceptions as Tatsuya Kaname's Magi won ugly against the Boise State Broncos, 252-84, at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara, B.C.

The decision to keep Name in the game after throwing more than six interceptions was seen with derision and after Name was taken out of the game at halftime in favor of backup Josh Carrington, the fans actually booed despite being up by a significant margin.

"I assume responsibility for pushing my father to keep Invalid in the game for the remainder of the first half," said Magi quarterbacks coach Akiyuki Kaname. I just don't think he had a great game with all the interceptions, but he was great with throwing for all those passing yards and touchdowns.

"I think with Invalid, every throw become a 50-50 ball because he tends to hang his throws in the air and not put some zip in his throws. Boise's pass defense really frustrated us, but we responded by forcing twice as many turnovers. This was a day for defenses. Let's not kid ourselves here; both pass defenses came to play today."

Tight end Ryuta Kasugano led all receivers with 23 catches for 512 yards and eight touchdowns, while middle linebacker Jackie Bezzina and free safety Karuta Kanda had seven interceptions each. Altogether, the Magi had 1906 yards of total offense and the defense forced 32 turnovers, 31 of those being interceptions.

Madoka will take the week off before hosting the Hawai'i Warriors in Week 9.
