Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 89-49 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C. but the offense took a major blow early in the first half. On the Magi's first offensive series, quarterback Anonymous Anonymous suffered a torn pectoral muscle and will be out nine weeks.

"Anonymous just can't seem to get away from being injured," said a disappointed Coach Kaname after the game. "That means we are now just four-deep at quarterback. Our freshman gunslingers are going to get a big opportunity to make the most of their increased playing time.

"Damion [Roberson] will now become our starter and Eric [Jenkins] will be the backup. I will have to choose between Jimmy [Scott] and Corey [Moore] as to who will assume the third-string slot. Hopefully this will not put a damper on our title defense, but this is a tough one for Anon to take. Aside from that, I was impressed with our starters and will rest them for the next three weeks. Our backups will get their moment to shine on Homecoming."

Jenkins, the third-string quarterback for Madoka, passed for 192 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 113 yards and two more majors. Halfback Kyle Ryan ran for 187 yards and two scores while Roberson ran for 29 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Jack Dallaire caught seven passes for 117 yards and a touchdown while wideout Terrance Andrews had four receptions for 74 yards and a major.

Right guard Jorge Whitlock led the blockers with 26 pancakes while allowing one sack. Middle linebacker Daiki Asuka III paced the defense with 15 tackles and two sacks. Cornerback Christian Smith added two interceptions while right outside linebacker J.R. Cooper had three sacks.

Mitakihara improve to 3-0 and will get the next two weeks off before preparing for Homecoming 2046 against the Boise State Broncos.
