Mitakihara pound Florida, 159-52

In a day full of turnovers on both sides of the ball, Tatsuya Kaname's No. 1-ranked Mitakihara Magi were on point as they clobbered the No. 3-ranked Florida Gators, 159-52 at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara, B.C. Quarterback Anonymous Anonymous passed for 469 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 367 yards and three more scores.

Halfback Kyle Ryan ran for 181 yards and four touchdowns, halfback Cory Jackson ran for 195 yards and two majors, wide receiver Tyler Brown ran for 115 yards and a score and fullback Red Eilands rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Avery Clark led the receivers with six catches for 117 yards and a major, while Ryan had another six catches for 97 yards and two scores. Also with a touchdown catch were tight end Bobby Walker and wideout Ryan Riley.

Clark led the blockers with 30 panckes, while wideout Allen Summers added 25 pancakes. Walker also had 22 panckes. Middle linebacker Daiki Asuka III had 16 tackles to lead the tacklers on defense but it was defensive tackle Brian Phillips and left Chad Estes that had bigger days, with five sacks each. Cornerback Christian Smith had four interceptions.

"Florida are a good team and they have a lot of character; they never gave up, never let themselves feel like they were behind and kept on fighting," Coach Kaname said after they game. "They were resilient and forced a number of turnovers and got some points off of us."

"The opponents we face later on won't be as intimidating, but the challenge will be there. Next week, we face Clemson and the second string will be activated to give them time to shine."

Mitakihara improve to 2-0 and host the Clemson Tigers next week.
