Madoka punch Hawai'i on Pocky Day, 219-31

For the second straight week, Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi went over 200 points. Quarterback Haruyuyki Arita passed for 572 yards and 11 touchdowns while rushing for 128 yards and threr more scores as the Magi rolled past the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors, 219-31, on Pocky Day 2051. Backup quarterback Nic Johnson passed for 119 yards and three majors while rushing for 213 yards and three more touchdowns in relief.

Halfback Marques Murray ran for 161 yards and two touchdowns while backup halgback DeMarcus Washington ran for 43 yards and a score. Halfback Fred Jackson was money on the ground, rushing for 66 yards and five touchdowns. Wide receiver Trey Lester caught six passes for 222 yards and four touchdowns, Biletnikoff contender Takumu Mayuzumi caught another six passes for 227 yards and four majors and wideout Reggie McFadden caught four passes for 94 yards and three scores.

McFadden also led the blockers with 20 pancakes. On defense, cornerback Chris Robinson and strong safety Deonne Floyd led the way with nine tackles each, but it was defensive tackle LaRon Wright that had the biggest day, with five sacks. Middle linebacker Matt Blanchard also had an interceptions returned 88 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.

"Our road trip is a success, and now we have three more games to go," said Coach Kaname. "We have nine days before the Magia Day 2051 game with UNLV. After that, we will prepare for the conference championship game, followed by our bowl game. We hope to at least make it to Pasadena. I think Penn State and Georgia will succeed in holding us off this year."

Mitakihara improve to 11-0 and return to action on Nov. 20 at home against the UNLV Rebels to close out the regular season. Magia Day 2051 will honor the student-athletes of the Class of 2052.
