Quarterback Haruyuki Arita passed for 379 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for 193 yards and three more scores as Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi routed the Fresno State Bulldogs, 212-28, at Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, Calif. A healthy balance of pass and run was the order of the day for the Magi, who improve to 8-0 on the year.

Halfback Rob Wade ran for 249 yards and four touchdowns, halfback Tommy Washington rushed for 67 yards two majors, backup quarterback Nic Johnson rushed for 131 yards and two scores and fullback John Nelson ran for 164 yards and two more scores. Also with a couple of touchdowns on the ground was fullback Zach Howe, who also returned a kickoff 79 yards for a touchdown start the game.

Wide receiver Takumu Mayuzumi caught 10 passes for 196 yards and four touchdowns while wideout Trey Lester caught four passes for 76 yards and two scores. Wideout Kelvin Sanders caught five passes for 82 yards and a major and also led the blockers with 27 pancakes.

Defensively, the Ballroom Blitz of the Morning Rescue Defense was on point, and defensive tackle A.J. Meyers led the way. Meyers had seven sacks to pace the pass rush while left end Chris Stephens had six sacks. Three other players—right end James Curtis, right outside linebacker Robert Gaither and right end Brian Brown—had four sacks.

Next week, the Magi return home to host the struggling San Diego State Aztecs, who are looking at another bowl-less season straight in the face.
