"Aggies, oh Aggies! The hills send back the cry! We're out to do or die!"

Those are some of the words of the now-infamous Aggie Fight Song that stirs and shakes the souls of the men and women representing New Mexico State University. It fires them up and never lets them down. Once upon a time, the school's football program was falling on hard times, stealing a living as an FBS Independent nearly four decades ago.

Now it stands on the precipice of the greatest season in Aggie football history. Under the direction of first-year head coach Brett Graham and offensive coordinator Chie Yoshioka, New Mexico State are in the Rose Bowl for the very first time and can reach perfection with a victory over the USC Trojans.

Yuzuko Nonohara, Yukari Hinata and Yui Ichii, fresh off a scouting mission to Greensboro, N.C. days ago, were hoping on the flight back that New Mexico State would get to live their BCS dream. Ichii, in particular, was extremely confident that the Aggies would finish high enough to earn their place in the Bowl Championship Series.

"I love rooting for the underdog, and I nearly picked New Mexico State as my university to major in Liberal Arts," Ichii said, watching some games at a packed McGann's Sports Bar and Grill in Madoka Square. "In the end, Mitakihara's prestige and young history won out.

"I knew that once New Mexico State beat Idaho, they did everything they needed to do. It was just a matter of a few teams ranked ahead of them to also fall. Georgia was probably the one major hurdle in the way, and once Texas A&M beat them, the Aggies were in. There was simply no way the Kids From The Krosses were going to be denied.

"I hope they give USC a fight, and I am hopeful that New Mexico State will win their bowl game and complete their dream season."
