Three scouts have been sent to check on this season's American Athletic Conference Championship Game between the East Carolina Pirates, ranked No. 1 in the country, and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville, N.C. Yukari Hinata, Yuzuko Nonohara and Yui Ichii are junior Liberal Arts majors at Mitakihara and have been summoned by Coach Tatsuya Kaname to take a look at ECU and their potential as their opponent in the BCS National Championship Game.

Graduate assistant Steve Meyer will act as an escort and liaison to the scouts. When asked of the opportunity, they were excited, especially Nonohara. "This is an awesome opportunity to go out there and take a look at what America feels is the best college football team in all of college football...outside of ours, of course," she said in an interview at Magia Quad. "This is great!"

"It's always nice to go out there and see new places, especially learn about how scouting opponents is done," Hinata said. "It's more than just watching the game. It's also looking at their top players, how they perform, and looking at their statistics and their performances. Then we have to relay it to the coaches and they figure out the game plan. That's the process."

"I think East Carolina is destined to face Mitakihara," Ichii said. "They won the national championship last year, or rather, split it with Texas A&M, and they were fortunate to be unbeaten this season. We're taking back our crystal football from them this year, Air Force willing."

Speaking of Air Force, the Mitakihara Magi football team, coached by the legend himself, Tatsuya Kaname, will take on the Air Force Falcons in the 2050 Mountain West Conference Championship Game this Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET and will be televised by City, TVA Sports, The Mtn., NHK and BBC.
