Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakiihara Magi went back to the old spread option attack and smothered the Army Black Knights, 111-42, on a balmy yet cool evening at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. on "Saluting The Heroes" night. Quarterback Haruyuki Arita passed for 381 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 299 yards and seven scores. Halfback D.W. Hinoi ran for 359 yards and four more majors.

"I think we have our two-pronged attack," said Coach Kaname after the game. "The Pig can shoot the pigskin far, while Ike Ike has the speed and elusiveness to form a lethal change-up. So we're going to utilize these two players as much as possible."

Wide receiver Trey Lester caught six passes for 85 yards and a touchdown while wideout Takumu Mayuzumi caught four passes for 90 yards and another score. Another wideout, Jon James, led the blockers with nine pancakes. Right outside linebacker Thomas "Snake" Pittman led the defense in tackles with 14, left outside linebacker Josh "Mighty" Fine had two sacks and cornerback Tony "Bubba" Hubbard had a 41-yard interception for a score.

The Magi are 3-0 and bring a long road trip starting next week against the Air Force Falcons.
