Mitakihara burn past Texas A&M in the rain, 254-7

In a driving rainstorm at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi scorched the Texas A&M Aggies, 254-7. Quarterback Haruyuki Arita passed for 988 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for 273 yards and four more scores.

Halfback DeMarcus Washington ran for six short touchdowns while halfback Michael Wilkerson ran for 138 yards and four more majors. Wide receiver Trey Lester caught 12 receptions for 416 yards and six touchdowns, Washington caught eight receptiosn for three majors, wideout Jong James caught seven passes for 104 yards and three scores and wideout Takumu Mayuzumi caught six passes for 115 yards and four touchdowns.

James led the blockers with 14 pancakes, Mayuzumi added 11 pancakes and wideout Matt Lewis had 10 pancakes. Defensively, right end Travis Clark led the way with nine tackles and four sacks. Defensive tackle LaRon Wright added five sacks, while left end Ryan Hodge added four sacks. Middle linebacker Jeff Nakazawa led the tacklers with 13 tackles and two sacks.

Mitakihara improve to 1-0 and travel to Provo, Utah on Sept. 6 to take on the Brigham Young Cougars.
