Halfback D.W. Hinoi passed for 365 yards and three touchdowns as Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi defeate the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors, 27-7, at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Wide receoiver Trey Lester caught 12 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown and halfback DeMarcus Washington caught four passes for 198 yards and another score as the Magi tried out the run-and-shoot for the first time in program history.

"The run-and-shoot is an old, but nice precursor to the spread offense," said Coach Kaname after the game. "We decided that after the second team elected not to start this game, we would do something different and introduce our team to the run-and-shoot.

"D.W. did a lot of passing today and he put on an admirable performance. For a halfback, he has a cannon of an arm, and today, he was on fire for us. We'll look to probably give the run-and-shoot another go next week on Magia Day, since I am an now welcome to trying out different looks and seeing how our players run it.

"Our team is capable of running any offensive or defensive system we give them. They are like a machine and we just give out instructions for them to carry out. It's very fascinating, if you aske me."

Wide receiver Takumu Mayuzumi led the blockers with 10 pancakes, while cornerback Shedrick Johnson paced the defense with six tackles. Mitakihara improve to 10-0 and conclude their home campaign next week against the Wyoming Cowboys in Magia Day Day 2052, honoring the athletes of the Class of 2053.
