A number of new records fell following the 255-10 victory for Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi over the Stanford Cardinal in the 2053 BCS National Championship Game in Miami, Fla. The national championship is the 40th in Mitakihara history, making the Magi the Best College Football Team in All of College Football. In addition, Coach Kaname now has coached more games than any other coach in the history of College Football, breaking the old record of 548 set by Amos Alonzo Stagg in 1946.

"I'm 56 years old and I can't believe that I passed a guy that storied in Coach Stagg," said Coach Kaname over the phone from his office at Hakurei Centre. "I think this is the hallmark of years of being successful as a coach and as a teacher. So I am honored to now have coached more football games than any other coach in the history of this sport. I will be forever thankful that I was named head coach of my sister's football team."
