Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi were a scoring tornado, decimating the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 129-13 thanks to trying out the run-and-shoot offense. Haruyuki Arita passed for 473 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 304 yards and four touchdowns in the rout, while halfback D.W. Hinoi ran for 210 yards and five touchdowns.

Wide receiver Trey Lester caught nine passes for 162 yards and two scores, wideout Jon James caught eight passes for 120 yards and a major and wideout Takumu Mayuzumi caught nine passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Also with a pass for a score was tight end Ryan Gunn. Mayuzumi also led the blockers with 29 pancakes, while Lester added 21 pancakes.

Strong safety Vince Wolfe led the defense in tackles with 15 tackles and five TFL but it was the play of cornerback Tony Hubbard that really delivered. Hubbard had three interceptions to pace the Morning Rescue defense.

Mitakihara improve to 2-0 and will conclude their season-opening homestand next week in prime time against the Army Black Knights in a rematch of last year's BCS Championship Game.
