Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi were at it again at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C., cruising past the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 73-0, to win the Battle of the Angels. Quarterback D.W. Hinoi had a perfect day throwing the football, going 16-for-16 with 256 yards and five touchdowns Halfback DeMarcus Washington ran for 78 yards and four touchdowns in a nice change-up.

Wide receiver Kevin Cronin led the receivers with three catches for 107 yards and a score, while wideout Matt Lewis added another three receptions for 61 yards and two touchdowns. Cronin also led the blockers with four pancakes. Freshman defensive tackle Ryan Bowers led a strong pass rush, with six tackles and three sacks.

"This was a much better, much more sound game from our offense," said Coach Kaname after the game. "I was really impressed with D.W.'s accuracy today. This is the first time in history that a quarterback connected on all of his passes in a game. The very first time we've seen a perfect game from anyone under center at this school. I don't know if we're going to see something similar next week, but I hope we do."

Mitakihara improve to 2-0 and conclude opening home stand next week against the New Mexico Lobos in their Mountain West Conference opener.
