Happy Magia Day, readers of the Daily Magi and Magi Football Blog. I am Gir Todafunk, Mr. Wonderful, back with another fresh weekly column for your fine folks to check out. Great news, everyone: we are number one once again! Thank you, Purdue Boilermakers, for stunning Iowa and making us the top team in college football ahead of this game, the Magia Day game, honoring all the fourth-year student-athletes of the Class of 2055.

Still, to see that we are essentially the only unbeated team remaining, we just have to win out next four games and what's done is done. So this is what will happen, I think: if Notre Dame beats USC, and we take down Wyoming, UNLV and our opponent in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game, we're going to be facing the Irish for all the marbles in Glendale.

Beating Notre Dame once is hard enough, but beating them twice take a lot of fortitude and a lot of consistency, things we already have exhibited for weeks, a.k.a. all season. As I said before, this schedule is pretty straightforward, and we face a Wyoming team that will look to surprise us and make its own history.

In every hall and building I've gone to, I see photos and banners and signs honoring the players on the team, especially Jeremy Moses and Ryan Hodge, our captains. The one person I'm going to miss more than anything is Jon James. He won't be winning the Biletnikoff this year because of the breakout season from Kevin Cronin, who has been nothing but money as a receiver.

I really hope Dylan Maxwell doesn't let all this playing time get to his head and elect to bail for the pros early. It would be a shame if a few of our juniors elect to leave early for the draft. That isn't what we're about. We're all about finishing the job and getting that degree. Of course, that's easy for me to say; I could be my own hypocrite at the end of next year.

Oh well, it's too soon for me to thing too much about all this. Time for me to focus on the game tomorrow. Next week, we hit the road to face the UNLV Rebels, and I rank my top 10 buffets in Vegas. Till next time, I'm Gir, Mr. Wonderful, signing off. You are not alone.
