Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi were back to their ruthless selves this week, hanging 255 on the San Diego State Aztecs in their 255-66 blowout at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, Calif. Quarterback D.W. Hinoi passed for 1208 yards and 17 touchdowns and rushed for two more scores and halfback Chaz Thomas ran for 221 yards and four more majors to contribute to the lopsided result.

Wide receiver Jeff Scott, caught 12 passes for 689 yards and eight touchdowns, wideout Matt Lewis caught eight passes for 322 yards and five scores and wideout Kevin Cronin caught six passes for 291 yards and five touchdowns. Wideout Patrick Cox led in blocking with 14 pancakes while Scott added 13. Defensively, wideout Ethan Brink led in tackles with 10, but it was the play of cornerback Gir Todafunk that set the place alight.

On defense, Todafunk had six tackles and seven interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. He returned four kickoffs for 200 yards and a touchdown returned 85 yards while returning four punts for 171 yards and two majors. Strong safety Nick Malceski, cornerback Quinton Reese and cornerback Bryan Malone had four interceptions each while defensive tackle Justin Gray had four sacks.

"We had a solid week of practice at San Diego City College, where we do our practices any time we are in San Diego for a game, and it paid off in a big way," Coach Kaname said after the game. "We need to keep the ball rolling when we go on these road games. This is a great opportunity for the entire team to pad their stats and hopefully impress the voters."

Mitakihara improve to 9-0 and continue their road trip next week against the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors.
