Florida has their hurricanes, but British Columbia has their typhoons. And it's drdged in rose, pink and white. In the pouring rain at Mitakihara Stadiun in Mitakihara Town, B.C., Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi shut out the Miami Hurricanes, 77-0. Quarterback D.W. Hinoi passed for 173 yards and three touchdowns while halfback DeMarcus Washington ran for 120 yards and four more scores.

Halfback Michael Wilkerson caught three paasses for 35 yards and two touchdowns while wide receiver Kevin Cronin caught three passes for 55 yards and a score. Tight end Deon Tanner also caught a pass for six, while wideout Matt Lewis led in blocks with seven pancakes. Left end Ryan Hodge led a quiet, but effective pass rush with four sacks.

"We need to do a much better job converting on fourth down inside the red zone," said Coach Kaname after the game. "That failed conversion is something we're going to have to address next week when we face Notre Dame. We have to be more efficient with our conversions. Otherwise, I think we had a solid performance on both side of the ball and we look to keep that going in our next game."

Mitakihara improve to 1-0 and host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the renewal of the Battle of the Angels.
