This week, Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi decided to try out a new offense to throw the Utah State Aggies off base: the Apple Pistol offense, as suggested by junior sports management major Amelia Jems of O'Fallon, Missouri to Coach Kaname. The end result was their first shutout of the season: a 56-0 rout of the Aggies at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C.

Quarterback D.W. Hinoi passed for 241 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 52 more yards while halfback Michael Wilkerson ran for 127 yards and three more majors. Halfback Chaz Thomas ran for 82 yards and a score, wide receiver Jeff Scott caught four passes for 127 yards and three touchdowns and wideout Kevin Cronin caught four passes for 109 yards and a major.

Left tackle Evan Lightfoot led the blockers with eight pancakes while wide receiver Matt Lewis and right tackle Jermaine Roberts added six pancakes. Left outside linebacker Greg "The Witch Doctor" Papashango led the defense with six tackles and two sacks while left end Skyler Rankin added five tackles and two more sacks.

"It feels great to have a shutout, but what's important is that we did enough to win the game," Coach Kaname said after the match. "We put on a clean performance but we should have done better in converting the fourth down inside the red zone in the first quarter. Credit to Utah State for standing tall on that series. Other than that's it's pretty much on to next week."

Mitakihara improve to 6-0 and continue their home stand next week against the Nevada Wolf Pack.
