Mitakihara crush Fresno State, 139-24

Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi continue to pile on the wins as they improved to 8-0 with a 139-24 rout of the Fresno State Bulldogs at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Quarterback D.W. Hinoi passed for 413 yards and seven touchdowns and backup signal-caller Dylan Maxwell passed for 203 yards and four scores, but it was the play of halfback Chaz Thomas that made all the difference in this game.

Thomas ran for 385 yards and six touchdowns while catching four passes for 52 yards and a score. Wide receiver Jeff Scott had five receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns, wideout Kevin Cronin had three receptions for 138 yards and two more majors, wideout Matt Lewis had three catches for 117 yards and two scores and tight Deon Tanner also had a couple of touchdown catches in the rout. 

Center Ryan Hudson led the blockers ith 23 pancakes, while right tackle Harold Miller added 13. Middle linebacker Roman Evans led the defense in tackles with eight, but it was cornerback Gir Todafunk that became the spark plug, with five tackles, four pass deflections and three interceptions. Todafunk also returned a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown.

Mitakihara open up November with a trio of road games. The Magi are back in action on Nov. 6 at San Diego State.
