Despite coughing up 1,364 passing yards, Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi secured 15 interceptions on defense and rode on a balanced attack to outslug the Utah State Aggies, 210-79, at Romney Stadium in Logan, Utah. Quarterback D.W. Hinoi passed for 713 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 253 yards and eight more scores.

Halfback Michael Wilkerson ran for 220 yards and three touchdowns, halfback DeMarcus Washington ran for 51 yards and three majors, fullback Dominique Wright ran for 62 yards and three scores and backup quarterback Sam Tremblau ran for 263 yards and three more touchdowns. Wide receiver Kevin Cronin caught seven passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns, wideout Jeff Scott caught three passes for 114 yards and two more scores and wideout Matt Lewis added four receptions for 149 yards.

Lewis and wideout Jon James led in blocking with 21 pancakes, while Cronin added 17 pancakes. Cornerback Gir Todafunk had nine of Mitakihara's 15 interceptions, while middle linebacker Todd Sparks led in tackling with 10 tackles. Halfback Chaz Thomas had two kickoff returns for 142 yards and returned three punts for 81 yards and a score.

"I was not happy with the passing yardage we gave up today, but we've had a track record of having the worst pass defense in college football," said Coach Kaname after the game. "All I can say is that we made up for it with the picks we got. Offensively, D.W. did a fantastic job, and on defense, we can count on Gir to give us some extra possessions. Hopefully we can reduce the pass yardage given up next week, but I won't keep my hopes up."

Mitakihara improve to 5-0 and continue their road trip next week against the Air Force Falcons.
