Losing quarterback D.W. Hinoi to a broken collarbone did not necessarily mean that Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi were going to put the foot off the gas pedal. They kept on going, skinning the Nevada Wolf Pack alive, 227-10 at Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nevada. Quarterback Dylan Maxwell passed for 439 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for 181 yards and four more scores.

The ground attack was on fire for the Magi. Quarterback Sam Tremblay ran for 310 yards and four touchdowns, halfback Michael Wilkerson ran for 175 yards and four more majors, halfback Beau Day ran for 174 yards and four scores and halfback DeMarcus Washington ran for 102 yards and three touchdowns.

Wide receiver Kevin Cronin had eight catches for 213 yards and four touchdowns and also led in blocking with 29 pancakes. Middle linebacker Jason led in tackles with 11, while right end Nick Colvin had four sacks. However, cornerback Gir Todafunk had the biggest day of all, snagging five interceptions and returning one of them for a touchdown in the first half.

"Our depth is superb and I decided to empty the bench and give the backups some time to shine," said Coach Kaname after the game. "Dylan has improved by leaps and bounds as a dual-threat signal-caller, and I was impressed by his decision making. We plan to have him as the starter for the rest of the season, or at least until D.W. is available late."

Mitakihara improve to 7-0 and take the week off before wrapping up their road trip on Oct. 31 against Fresno State.
