Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi will be short on depth at right end. Randy Hill, a 6'5", 261 freshman from Erwin, Tennessee has transferred to Duke. The promise was that Hill would have more than 50 tackles, play in more than nine games and make more than 13 sacks, but even that was not enough to sway Hill from changing his mind.

In the 2054 season, Hill only had two tackles and one tackle for loss. Had Hill stayed, he would have been a major contributor to the Magi this season as a sophomore.

"Playing time is very imporant to me and I don't see myself getting on the field here," Hill told Coach Kaname at a face-to-face meeting today.

"We are very disappointed that Randy has elected to play for a school that does not have any chance of having a winning season let alone play in a bowl game," Coach Kaname told reporters today. "At Mitakihara, playing time should not be the most important thing. It's the education. We believe that Randy has not taken his education here at Madoka seriously and has exhibited the type of character detrimental to team morale.

"As a result of Randy's decision, Duke will be placed on this year's nonconference schedule. We are hoping to counter this with two solid top five opponents but Randy's decision has severely weakened our team's 2055 schedule. The Mitakihara Family will not miss him, that's for sure."
