Quarterback Dean Amakusa passed for 556 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 103 yards and four more scores as Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi rolled past the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 196-31, at TCB Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Halfback Tony Kalmar ran for 315 yards and five touchdowns and backup quarterback Justin Powers ran for 119 yards zand two more scores to anchor the Magi ground game.

Wide receiver Ethan Brink caught nine passes for 278 yards and four touchdowns while wideout Kevin "Ronin" Cronin caught three passes for 183 yards and a trio of majors. Brink also led the blockers with 23 pancakes, while wideout Patrick Cox added 19 pancakes. Defensively, cornerback Nathan Sims led the way with 10 tackles, four sacks and an interception while right end Nick Colvin had six sacks.

However, it was the play of Gir Todafunk, once again, that told the story for the Morning Rescue package. Todafunk made five tackles and seven interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. In addition, Mr. Wonderful returned a kickoff 94 yards for a score, adding to his already storied career at Mitakihara.

The Magi are 2-0 and conclude their opening road trip next week against the Army Black Knights.
