Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi continue to pile on the wins. They blew past the Army Black Knights, 206-52 at Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y. Quarterback Dean Amakusa passes for 542 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 293 yards and three more touchdowns in the rout. As with the last two games, it was a balance of run and pass that wore down the hosts before a sellout crowd that filed out at halftime.

Halfback Tukul Abdul Rahman ran for 166 yards and five touchdowns, halfback Tony Kalmar ran for 156 yards and two majors, backup quarterback Antone Rogers ran for 106 yards and three scores and wide receiver Kevin Cronin had seven receivers for 262 yards and three touchdowns. Wideout Patrick Cox led the blockers with 19 pancakes middle linebacker Bobby Bray led the defense in tackling with nine tackles.

Cornerback Gir Todafunk continue his stellar season on defense and special teams. Todafunk, who is also known as Gareth Hale, had four tackles and five interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Todafunk also returned three kickoffs for 148 yards and another major.

"I was very pleased with how our players performed today, very much so," Coach Kaname said after the match. "We have the first of three bye weeks, and we hope to have a few recruits visit the campus on Homecoming against Boise State. We'll take the time to rest and recuperate because the Broncos should not be underestimated, especially early in the season."

Mitakihara improve to 3-0 on the year.
