No Friday the 13th curse was going to lay its effects on Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi, who scored a 213-34 victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack at Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nev. Quarterback Dean Amakusa passed for 473 yards and five touchdowns while rtushing for 113 yards and two more scores. A solid balance of run and pass has been Madoka's calling card, and it was on display despite the wet conditions.

Wide receiver Kevin Cronin had a field day catching the ball, with six catches for 364 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Ethan Brink also came up big with three catches for 123 yards and a pair of scores.

Wideout Patrick Cox led the blockers with 28 pancakes, while Brink added 26. Cornerback Nathan Sims had nin tackles, two sacks and an interception and cornerback Bryan Malone had three picks, but it was cornerback Gir Todafunk that was the marquee man on defense. Todafunk had two tackles and five interceptions, returned a kickoff 79 yards for a touchdown and returned three punts for 166 yards and a pair of majors.
