At Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. on a cool October afternoon, Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi lay a hurting on the Fresno State Bulldogs, 91-17, to retain the Rose Arrow Trophy, now reinstated after a long hiatus. Quarterback Dean Amakusa passed for 173 yards and four touchdowns, backup Justin Powers passes for 11 yards and two majors and halfback Tony Kalmar ran for 305 yards and two scores to lead the Magi offense.

Fullback Brian Brooks ran for 78 yards and three touchdowns, Kalmar caught six passes for 69 yards and another score, wide receiver Jeff Scott caught four passes for 51 yards and two majors, and right tackle Tony Bright led the blockers with 19 pancakes while left tackle Charles Mitchell added 14.

On defense, middle linebacker Roman Evans, defensive tackle Micah Joseph and left end Jermaine Asante led the tacklers with six tackles. Joseph added two sacks while Asante added another. Cornerback Darren Kujou continued to make a case for the Mosi Tatupu Award with a punt returned 53 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Mitakihara improve to 9-0 and return to action next week on the road against San Diego State.
