To the strains of Led Zeppelin's "Rock And Roll," Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi rocked and rolled their way to another shutout, a 125-0 whitewashing of the New Mexico Lobos at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. in the 2057 Mountain West Conference Championship Game. The victory means that the Magi will be facing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the 2058 BCS National Championship Game, pending the final BCS rankings at the end of the week.

Quarterback Dean Amakusa passed for 186 yards and three touchdowns while backup quarterback Justin Powers passed for 316 yards and a score, each making just one incompletion while never getting sacked. However, it was the ground game that took all the marbles.

Halfback Joe Wilson ran for 124 yardds and three touchdowns, Powers ran for 66 yards and two majors, halfback Tony Kalmar ran for 86 yards and two scores and fullback Mark Moore ran for 84 yards and two more touchdowns. Even starting halfback Tukul Abdul Rahman, who was eased back into the rotation after a long layoff due to injury, found the end zone in the fourth quarter.

Wide receiver Marques Singleton caught eight passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns and wideout Patrick Cox caught six passes for 149 yards. Freshman right tackle D.J. Leach led the blocking crew with 13 pancakes while sophomore right tackle Tony Bright added 10 pancakes. Defensive tackle Micah Joseph could be on his way to a Lombardi Award after 10 tackles and four sacks. Left end Jermaine Asante added 10 more tackles and three sacks.

Mitakihara improve to 13-0 for the year.
