Quarterback Dean Amakusa passed for 323 yards and a touchdown and halfback Tukul Abdul Rahman ran for 314 yards and four more scores as Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi wrapped up the West Division of the Mountain West Conference following their 82-15 victory over the UNLV Rebels at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev.

Amakusa ran for 124 yards and two majors, halfback Tony Kalmar ran for 45 yards and a touchdown, Abdul Rahman caught six passes for 99 yards and a score and wide receiver Jason Bower caught five passes for 124 yards while leading the blockers with 27 pancakes. Wide receiver Mike White had 17 pancakes.

Middle linebacker Brian Martin led the Magi in tackling with 16 tackles. Cornerbacks Josh Joyce, James Reese and Darren Kujou had an interception each while left end Jermaine Asante added two sacks. However, Joyce's interception resulted in a safety for UNLV after he was tackled into the end zone, and Joyce wasn't too happy about it.

"I need to do a better job of getting myself out of danger because my interception didn't really help my team at all," Joyce said after the game. "UNLV ended up gaining another possession instead of the ball being awarded to us. I rarely do those types of things when I make picks, and even though I didn't have much room to work with, that is on me. Hopefully that doesn't happen again in the conference championship game because I had to cop it on the chin."

Mitakihara improve to 12-0 on the season and await their opponent in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game, to be held at 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. on Dec. 7, 2058.
