Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi football team celebrated the 50th anniversary of the founding of their university with a 224-45 rout of the winless Utah State Aggies at Romney Stadium in Logan, Utah. Quarterback Ricky Cojuangco passed for 459 yards and eight touchdowns and ran for 50 yards and two more scores to lead the Madoka attack.

Halfback Rajiv Singh ran for 336 yards and five touchdowns, fullback Mark Perry ran for 115 yards and two scorees, halfback Danny Russ Hanover ran for 114 yards and four majors, halfback Dan Roxas rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns, wide receiver Xavier Cooper caught three passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns and wide receiver Jeff Bower caught two passes for 126 yards, both for scores. Five other players also caught a touchdown pass.

Cooper led the blockers with 25 pancakes, while wideout David Culver Page added 17 pancakes. Cornerback Darren Kujou led the defense with three tackles and nine interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Middle linebacker Keenan Osunbor led the tackles with nine tackles and a sack. Backup quarterback Carl Vaughn had three interceptions, backup quarterback Adam Kearney and cornerback free safety Jason Gyan had a couple of picks each, cornerback Kellen Hudson had two sacks, cornerback James Reese had four interceptions and right outside linebacker Elliott Prince added three sacks.

"That was one of our better defensive performances from the team but Utah State also made some solid plays themselves on offense and defense," Coach Kaname said after the game. "I wasn't took pleased with the fumble we gave up for a touchdown, as well as the interception that Ricky threw. We need to be responsible with the football, even against teams like Utah State. Letting down our guard is unacceptable against anyone we face."

Madoka improve to 5-0 and return to action next week on the road against the Air Force Falcons.
