It was one of the more closer matches that Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi had to deal with, but they got the job done in the form of an 84-55 victory over Raul Chaser's Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Quarterback Ricky Cojuangco passed for 294 yards and ran for 116 yards, scoring six touchdowns total on offense.

Halfback Dan Roxas continued his early push for the Doak Walker Award, rushing for 283 yards and five touchdowns. Halfback Rajiv Singh ran for 57 yards and a score, wide receiver Tony Graham Bell caught five passes for 82 yards and a major and wide receiver Jason Bower caught three passes for 59 yards. Left tackle Michael Aryee led the blockers with 14 pancakes while center Tom Green added 13 and right guard Robert Havenaar added 10.

Cornerback Richie Love led the tacklers on the Morning Rescue defense with 11 tackles and a sack. Cornerback James Reese added nine tackles and two interceptions while cornerback Kellen Hudson added eight tackles and a pick. Compared to the offense, it was a quieter performance from the defense against a Notre Dame passing attack that tested Madoka early and often.

Mitakihara improve to 2-0 and continue their home stand next week with the conference opener against the New Mexico Lobos.
