Mitakihara pound Hawai'i in the sun, 129-21

Mitakihara Magi head football coach Tatsuya Kaname finally activated his second team and they went to the ground, rumbling past the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors, 129-21, at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Haw. Quarterback Justin Powers only passed for 78 yards but he ran for 319 more yards and seven touchdowns in the blowout win.

It was a breakthrough performance for freshman fullback Lionel "Shabba" Tshabalala, the son of South African immigrants from Johannesburg. Shabba ran for 383 yards and five scores in an impressive debut start. Halfback Tony Kalmar ran for 221 yards and a major, halfbackl Joe Wilson ran for 227 yards and two touchdowns and tight end Jonathan Newell caught two passes for 40 yards and a score.

Wide receiver Xavier Cooper and left tackle Sean McDonald led the blockers with 14 pancakes, while wideout David Culver Page added 12 and center Tom Green added 10. Middle linebacker Keenan Osunbor led the defense in tackles with 13, while left end Jevon Pace added three sacks.

Mitakihara improve to 10-0 on the season and conclude their regular season road schedule next week against the Wyoming Cowboys.
