Ray Komichi's wife Kirari "as normal as one can be"

Unlike some of the other wives that the Mitakihara Magi football team are famous for, punter Ray Komichi, the 2059 Ray Guy Award winner, opted for the normal when he first dates Kirari Moroboshi. There's just one issue: she used to be an idol. Not that Ray seems to mind one bit...

"Kirari, my wife, is as normal as one can be. Once she left the idol business years ago, she was able to focus on a life of being an academic, and I first met Kirari when I was in my last year of high school," Komichi explained. "We started to date, and then in my freshman year at Madoka, we both married. Now she's the mother of two kids, both girls: Ayame and Reika.

"Kirari is one of those people that embraces the art of teaching students and young students in general. She's always finding ways to help students exercise their mind on different subjects relevant to today's society. To do this, she indulges in reading a lot of high-level material related to this thing called pedagogy. She loves that word and the material related to it, and she brings books about it to our off-campus apartment. Kirari even sends some books about pedagogy to my sister Aya.

"Now here's the thing: I am a kinesiology major, and she is an education major. I'm a jock, she's an academic. Somehow, by the grace of Madoka, we are able to coexist and share our thoughts about a wide variety of subjects. And it's paid off for the longest time. We talk about our classes and our teachers when we don't have anything else to do and I don't have practice, games or conditioning. Often we're jogging down Mitakihara Beach in the spring, talking about our classes and all that. And I'm starting to like the material that she brings to our room that I decided to minor in Education.

"Kirari and I are seniors and we'll be walking in the spring. Actually, I will be graduating in the fall but I want to walk with my wife at the ceremony at the Sakura Bowl so that we're earning our degrees at the same time. She's been a great help to getting my assignments done and she's also gonna be graduating summa cum laude. I'm only gonna be graduating magna cum laude, but I'm not complaining one bit.

"I want to be playing professional football as a punter, but I know that I may not be able to make it to the next level, so I'm glad I have a chance to go into sport management as a safety net. I want to stay local, so that I can be with Kirari and our two kids. However, they're willing to move with me to wherever life takes me, so that's a good thing. It's times like these that I'm glad I have a normal wife to keep my feet on the ground."
