Mitakihara Magi head football coach Tatsuya Kaname has completed 50 seasons at the helm of the Mitakihara Magi and after this season, a number of records have been rewritten following the Magi's 94-13 win over the UCLA Bruins in the 2061 Rose Bowl Games. Coach Kaname owns the records for national championships, the longest win streak, bowl victories, career victories, bowl appearances, games coaches and years at a school.

"50 years, is that so?" Coach Kaname said with a laugh via phone interview in Mitakihara Town, B.C. "Yeah, I have to say that I enjoyed seeing the rise of this program. I watched it grow and grow and many great players came through our grounds. This year's crop didn't go all the way, but they came close. We ended the season with a Rose Bowl title and a lot of momentum heading into next season."

Florida ended up winning the national championship with their 59-31 victory over the Army Black Knights in the 2061 BCS National Championship Game. The Gators and Black Knights are expected to be on next year's Mitakihara Magi football schedule, when the university returned to competing as a footballing independent.
