Quarterback Ricky Cojuangco passed for 332 yards and seven touchdowns and halfbacks Dan Roxas and Danny Russ Hanover went ballistic on the run as Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi shredded the Army Black Knights, 209-61, at Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y. Russ Hanover ran for 208 yards and three touchdowns while Roxas rushed for 257 yards and three more scores.

Fullback M.J. Vincent ran for 43 yards and two touchdowns, wide receiver David Culver Page caught five passes for 182 yards and five majors, wideout Xavier Cooper led the blockers with 16 pancakes and on defense, freshman cornerback Greg Essien had a breakout performance with seven tackles, three sacks and two interceptions. Cornerback Josh Ravensdale added two more picks while defensive tackle Mike Tsvangirai added three sacks.

In a rare perfect night on the field for the kicking game, place kicker Antonio Magsaysay converted all three of his field goal attempts, including a career-long 51-yarder. He also converted all 22 of his extra points. Halfback Billy Shaw returned two kickoffs for 183 yards and two touchdowns and backup tight end Ray Lyles returned another kickoff 47 yards for a score.

"The only thing that didn't go right for us all night was the safety we gave up late in the first quarter," Coach Kaname said. "Coach [Darrell] Hashida has been telling his O-line to get better protection on Ricky, and I don't think Robert [Havenaar] got the message. Based on the info from our stats guy on the spot, Rob gave up three sacks and one of them resulted in a safety.

"If we don't figure out how to prevent the blitz when we pass on third down in the shadow of our own goalposts, these things are going to be a habit. This has to be fixed next week. This was the only thing that didn't go right for our men, and aside from that, they played a solid game across the board."

Mitakihara improve to 2-0 and return to action next week on the road against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
