Sometimes plain vanilla is the best option. In the vernacular of Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi football team, that translates to focusing on the run. Even though quarterback Ricky Cojuangco passed for a touchdown, he ran for 273 yards and four more scores as the Magi ran past the UNLV Rebels, 111-7, on Saturday at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev.

Halfback Dan Roxas ran for 299 yards and three majors while catching two passes for 59 yards and a touchdown, halfback Rajiv Singh rushed for 91 yards and four touchdowns and fullback Shabba Tshabalala ran for 39 yards and two scores.

Right tackle D.J. Leach led the blockers with 14 pancakes while Roxas added 11 and right guard Robert Havenaar added 10 pancakes. Left outside linebacker Dralion Clowney led the defense with 13 tackles and four sacks while defensive tackle Mike Tsvangirai added four more sacks and an interception.

"We're in good shape to at least make it to Pasadena, and that's what we're going to focus on, since the other teams ahead of us will most likely go unbeaten," Coach Kaname said. "Our players can't worry about the teams ahead of them. We're going to do our best to win the conference one more time because it will be the last time we play for it."

Mitakihara improve to 12-0 on the year.
