Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi won what will most likely be their last-ever Mountain West Championship, defeating the Wyoming Cowboys, 86-14 at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. But the major question for the Magi football program is this: where will they play their bowl game? Will it be in Miami, Fla.? Or will it be in Pasadena, Calif.?

Regardless of the outcome, Coach Kaname believes that in any case, the uncertainty of the situation validates the need for the team to move out of the conference and go independent once again.

"We don't care about the other bowl games on the docket," said Coach Kaname. "There is only one bowl game we care about, and that's the National Championship game. Hopefully Florida falls, but if not, we have a great opportunity to deliver in the Rose Bowl Game. Either way, it's a great boon for us."

Quarterback Ricky Cojuangco passed for 271 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another, halfback Dan Roxas ran for 215 yards and four scores and wide receiver Jason Bower caught six passes for 96 yards and two scores. Left tackle Michael Aryee and center Tom Green led the blockers with 10 pancakes on the night. Cornerback James Reese led the defense in tackling with seven tackles.

Mitakihara improve to 13-0 on the year.
