Quarterback Ricky Cojuangco only passed for 87 yards but ran for 267 yards and six touchdowns as Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi wrapped up their roadtrip with a 94-36 over the Brigham Young Cougars on Saturday afternoon in Provo, Utah. With this performance, the Magi improve to 5-0 and will most likely rest their starters next week.

The running game took center stage as the passing game was held in check by Coach Kaname's surprisingly conservative play selection. Halfback Dan Roxas ran for 326 yards and two touchdowns, quarterback Rajiv Singh ran for 167 yards and two majors and halfback Danny Russ Hanover ran for 56 yards and two scores.

Wide receiver Xavier Cooper caught three passes for 63 yards and also led the blockers with four pancakes in a quiet day for the run blocks. On defense, strong safety Richard Aquino led the way in tackling with 13 tackles but it was cornerback Greg Essien that had the strongest performance overall with 10 tackles and three interceptions.

Next week, the Magi begin their home slate with Homecoming 2061 against the UCLA Bruins.

  1. Another heartbreaker for Corch BTT. San Diego State 35, Colorado State 33. A game-winning field goal with 12 second remaining on the clock sealed the fate of the Rams this time. That's two straight two-point losses in two weeks. Bad things coming in twos for Tworavis. Bye next week, will return to action on Week 7 against Nevada.
